Joey Barton is set to join Rangers on a free transfer.
The midfielder was offered a new deal in the Premier League by Burnley but is heading north of the border.
Burnley have offered Barton a 12-month agreement after the midfielder helped them win promotion last season.
However, it is understood he has agreed to join Rangers on a two-year deal.
Barton, 33, tweeted that it was a "tough decision", adding some words from the Roy Orbison's 'Penny Arcade' which has been adopted by Rangers fans.
Burnley team-mate Andre Gray also took to Twitter to wish Barton good luck, adding "Sad to see big bro go."
Rangers will return to the Scottish Premiership next term but missed out on European qualification after their defeat to Hibernian at the weekend.
They have already brought in four new faces in Accrington duo Josh Windass and Matt Crooks, and Liverpool youngster Jordan Rossiter.
