Watch hundreds of FC Zurich fans storm the players' tunnel after seeing their team relegated
Some fans can be mean shaa. Watch hundreds of FC Zurich fans storm the players tunnel after their team got relegated.
FC Zurich beat Valduz 3-1 on the final day of Swiss Super League season but it wasn't enough to keep them up.
Lugano overcame St Gallen 3-0 on Wednesday night to relegate Zurich for the first time since 1988 - and their fans didn't take it very well.
Their supporters poured down from the stands after the final whistle and followed the players down the tunnel.
Luckily for both teams, security guards inside the tunnel were able to get the situation under control and there were no serious injuries.
But the disorder then spilled on to the streets with police using water cannons and rubber bullets on a crowd of around 500 fans.
The fact that it was Zurich's first win in 10 matches - run of results that cost Sami Hyppia his job - may help to explain the fans' anger.
But they will at least have some chance of glory - and revenge - when their side take on Lugano in Sunday's Swiss Cup final.
